Laurie and Melissa are in a clothing store.
M = Melissa L = Laurie
M: How about this one?
L: (Shakes her head) It's kind of drab. Does it come in any other colors?
M: I don't think so.
L: Next. (Melissa gives her an annoyed look.) What?
M: You've rejected every single one of my choices since we got here.
L: Is this about the jacket? Look, it's fine for the office, but I want you to look better than just "fine" for your big date.
M: I know.
L: This is a cool sweater.
M: Ick, cashmere. No wonder it's so expensive. (Eyes another dress) Laurie, check this dress out.
L: Nice find. Quick, try it on!
2. Doing Laundry
Laurie is reading in her room.
M: Ah! Laurie! (Laurie enters; Melissa holds up her new dress.)
L: Your new dress! It's so tiny! What happened?
M: Beats me. I washed it like normal. Tonight's my big date, too!
L: This dress has to be dry-cleaned. Wool can shrink in the washing machine.
M: Where were you an hour ago?! Ugh, I'm in no mood to go out now!
L: Can you cancel? (Looks inside the washing machine) Wait. You washed your whites and colors together?
M: Hmm, yeah. I should cancel.
L: You should separate white and dark clothes because the clothing dye can bleed on to your whites. And check the tag for the dry-clean-only symbol.
M: Again, this would have been great to know an hour ago!

蘿莉：下一件。（梅莉莎惱怒地看了她一眼。）什麼？
梅莉莎：我們到這裡以後妳就回絕我的每一個選擇。
蘿莉：這跟那件外套有關嗎？聽著，它在辦公室是可以的，但我希望妳在約會的重要日子看起來不止「還可以」。
梅莉莎：我知道。
蘿莉：這件毛衣很酷。
梅莉莎：呃，克什米爾羊毛。難怪這麼貴。（注視另一件洋裝）蘿莉，來看這件洋裝。
蘿莉：很會找喔。快，來試穿看看！
2. 洗衣服
蘿莉在房間裡看書。
梅莉莎：啊！蘿莉！（蘿莉走進來，梅莉莎拿起她的新洋裝。）
蘿莉：妳的新洋裝！變這麼小件！發生什麼事了？
梅莉莎：我不知道。我就跟平常一樣洗滌。今晚也是我約會的重要日子！
蘿莉：這件洋裝必須要乾洗。羊毛在洗衣機裡可能會縮水。
梅莉莎：一小時前妳在哪裡？！呃，我現在不想出門了！
蘿莉：妳可以取消嗎？（往洗衣機裡面看）等等。妳把白色的衣服和有顏色的一起洗？
梅莉莎：嗯，是啊。我應該取消。
蘿莉：妳應該把白色和深色衣服分開，因為衣服染料可能會滲到妳的白色衣服上。還有要看標籤是否有只能乾洗的符號。
梅莉莎：再一次，要是一小時前知道這點就好了！
