Family For Hire　來充當我的家人一下吧！
For those whose family life is less than ideal, a new service helps fill the void.
對於那些家庭生活不甚理想的人們，一項新型的服務對填補缺憾有所裨益。

　　For most people, there’s no question about how important family is. But for many in Japan, where traditional family values are important, the concept of “family first” is taken to a whole new level. What if your family status isn’t the greatest, though? In Japanese society, that’s where the concept of the “rental▼ family” comes to the rescue.
　　One company that rents out family members for a variety of purposes is called Family Romance. The business began over a decade ago. Back then, a friend of company founder Ishii Yuichi needed a favor. She was a single mother, and her son was denied entry into a kindergarten because she wasn’t married. So, Ishii went along to the interview, posing as the boy’s father, to give the interviewers the picture of the perfect family. Thus, Family Romance was born.
　　Today, Family Romance employs over 1,200 actors who can be husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, grandmas, grandpas, or just about anyone. Ishii himself has played the father in over 25 families and portrayed the husband of more than 600 women.

1. void n. 空虛感，失落感；空白

2. take sth to a whole new level　　把某事帶到新的境界
Chris took the art of rap to a whole new level that no one else could reach.

3. status n. 狀況；身分
Al changed his relationship status on Facebook from “in a relationship” to “single” after breaking up with Jill.
與吉兒分手後，艾爾把他臉書上的狀態從「戀愛中」改成「單身」了。
4. come to + the／所有格 + rescue　　救援某人
My friend came to my rescue and gave me a much needed job.
我朋友救了我一命，給了我一份我迫切需要的工作。
5. entry n. 進入許可；進入，加入
The country hopes to gain entry into the United Nations.
這個國家希望能加入聯合國。
6. pose as sb　　假扮成／冒充成／裝成某人
Jimmy was caught posing as a doctor.
吉米假扮醫生被人逮到。
7. employ vt. 僱用
Heidi is employed as an editor in this company.
海蒂受僱於這家公司當編輯。
8. portray vt. 飾演（角色）；描述
portray sb as...　　把某人刻畫成……，將某人塑造成……
The actor is portraying Hamlet for the fifth time.
這名演員第五次飾演哈姆雷特這個角色。
This movie portrayed the cowboy as a brave fighter.
這部電影把這名牛仔刻畫成一位英勇的鬥士。

What if...? 的用法
本文中的 “What if + S + V?” 是由 “What happens / would happen if + S + V?” 省略而來，表「要是／萬一……的話會怎樣／要怎麼辦？」，if 後面可用一般時態或假設語氣。
1. what if 用來表對未來狀況存疑，或詢問不樂見或糟糕的狀況發生時會怎麼樣或要怎麼辦，可用現在式表示（如本文的用法），亦可置助動詞 should。
例 A picnic in the park is a great idea, but what if it rains?
在公園野餐這個點子很好，不過萬一下雨怎麼辦？
例 What if your ex-girlfriend should show up at your wedding?
萬一你的前女友出現在你的婚禮上該怎麼辦？
2. what if 亦可用來表與現在事實相反的假設語氣或不太可能發生的情況，此時用過去式表示。
例 What if you were able to travel through time? Which era would you go to?
如果你能夠穿越時空？你會到哪個時代去呢？
“What if...?” 也可以用來表示建議或邀請，意思是「如果……怎麼樣？」或「如果……如何？」，後面同樣可用一般時態或假設語氣。
例 What if we go to the movies tonight?
我們今晚去看電影如何？
例 What if we ate before rather than after the movie?
我們看電影前先吃東西，而不要看完再吃如何？

　　對於多數人來說，家庭有多重要是無庸置疑的。但是對於許多重視傳統家庭價值觀的日本人來說，「家人至上」的觀念被提升到了一個全新的境界。但要是你的家庭狀況不是最好的該怎麼辦呢？在日本社會中，「租賃家人」的概念因此應時而生。
　　一家稱為「浪漫家庭」的公司出於各種目的而出租家庭成員。這家公司創辦於十幾年前。當時公司創始人石井裕一有位朋友需要幫忙。她是一位單親媽媽，而她的兒子由於她沒有結婚，所以幼兒園拒收。因此，石井假扮成男孩的爸爸前往參加入學面談，給了面試官一個完美家庭的形象。就這樣，「浪漫家庭」誕生了。
　　「浪漫家庭」如今僱用了一千兩百多位的演員，這些人可以是你的丈夫、妻子、兄弟姐妹、奶奶、爺爺，或是任何親屬。石井本身就曾扮演過超過二十五個家庭中的父親，以及飾演過六百多名婦女的丈夫。
